iHop's Scary Face Pancake
Last weekend Grandma and Pap took the girls and I to iHop for breakfast. The girls really wanted the scary face pancakes. Doesn't Layne look so grown up with that look on her face and the glasses on the top of her head?!
Hayden sat by Pap and mooched off of his plate the entire meal. And of course, he was happy to give her anything off of his plate :)
The BIG Doctor's Visit
Today Hayden had her 4 year old doctor's visit. There were lots of new things that she got to do now that she's 4 years old! She got to look at pictures on the eye chart and tell the nurse what she saw. Then we stood back further and Hayden covered one eye and told the nurse about the pictures that she saw. She has 20/40 vision which is normal for a 4 year old.
They also checked her hearing and blood pressure.
Then they weighed her- 29 pounds 2 ounces and measured her height 3 feet 3 inches.
Next she got dressed in her little paper robe and we got to see Dr. Jattan (our favorite part!). Next it was the long wait for the nurse to come in with the SIX shots. I wanted Hayden to have the flu vaccination. They offer the mist (live virus sprayed up her nose) and she had it last year. She said that she DID NOT want that again this year. So I told her that it would mean getting one more shot and she was ok with that.
Dr. Jattan brought Hayden some stickers and 2 lollipops before the nurse came in with the shots. So, when it was time I told Hayden that she could have one of her lollipops. She just laid on the table and took it like a grown woman! The nurse told me that I had to hold her hands tight and not let them go. I did but I knew that Hayden wouldn't have trouble. I told her from the beginning that she was going to get shots and asked her if she wanted to try and be a big girl and not cry. She of course said yes. So, I knew that she had decided that she wasn't going to cry....no matter what! And that's how it happened.
The nurses and doctor were all SO impressed with what a brave little girl Hayden was. We didn't make it back to school in time for lunch bunch, but we did swing by Sonic so that she could get a very special treat for being so brave.

Birthday Weekend

We always have so much fun when the family is together!! Lots of love and laughter.
On Friday we went to the new park in Covington and HAD A BLAST!

The girls got some new Steelers gear from Grandma and Pap!!
Hayden's Big Day!

This year we had Hayden's party at noon, so all of our friends and family could have lunch with us! Jerm stayed up all night and smoked a pork shoulder and the rest of us came together to make everything else. It was a lot of fun.
The space cake.
Little Hayden floating in outer space.
Her rocket ship.
The cake was chocolate chocolate chip with cookies and cream filling.
Hayden with some of her buddies. Yes, her plate did eventually fall to the ground!
Hayden and Layne with Pappy.....next years Christmas card perhaps Pappy?!
Singing Happy Birthday to the big 4 year old!
Daddy fell fast asleep in the couch before all the guests left! The BBQ was worth it though!!

Happy 4th Birthday Precious Hayden!

On October 5, 2006 at 9:26pm Jeremy and I finally got to meet the precious baby that we had fallen in love with over the past 9 months. She was everything and more than we had ever wanted and parenthood was nothing like we expected! Our precious Hayden has been such a blessing in our lives and I can't imagine my life without her.

So, our morning started out at the dentist. Hayden got to "get her teeth nice and shiny because it was her birthday!" She even got fluoride painted on her teeth!
Then we were off to Toys R Us. They sent Hayden a birthday card with a $3 gift card in it. So, she picked out some nail polish and nail jewels. She even paid for it with her gift card since she's a big girl. They made a big deal about it being her birthday-they gave her a balloon, crown, and made an announcement throughout the entire store!!
Had to visit with Bert and Ernie on the firetruck before we left Toys R Us!
Next it was off to Chick-fil-A for lunch. After lunch the girls played on the slide.
Layne wasn't too sure about the slide at first. But once she saw Hayden go down the slide a few times she was good to go!
After shopping and naps it was time to work outside with daddy. She jumped right on the 4 wheeler and helped out. Just had to bring that balloon!!
Layne on the other hand.....this is as far as she'd go while daddy was running that loud machine that "cared" (scared) her.
Lastly, we went out to dinner with Grandma and Pop for dinner. She picked Red Robin. They even sang Happy Birthday to her and brought her an ice cream sundae....that daddy really enjoyed!
Layner enjoyed some too......
And of course the birthday girls loved it too!
Happy birthday girlie-hope you had a great day!

Hayden the Astronaut!

Here's one of the little figures that's going to go on Hayden's outer space cake for Saturday! The stars in the background were actually for a cake last weekend. The lady's daughter got sick on Thursday so they have rescheduled the party for 2 weeks. Thankfully, gumpaste can last that long :)
Out with the Old.....
The second entertainment center that Jerm built. The first one was built out of the wood used for our dance floor at our wedding.
And in with the new....
The new sleek TV stand! Built from the same wood as the above entertainment center! What a handy guy that Jeremy is! Love the storage drawers!!

Library Visit!

Poor little Layner is still not 100%. She was out of school for 3 of the 4 days last week so we really haven't been out much. I decided to take the girls on a special trip to the library yesterday. They had so much fun and it was good to get out of the house.

I just love the kids area since they've redone it!

We even played some computer games while we were there.

Then we went to Home Depot to pick up some pretty fall flowers!

Hello and Goodbye!

Yesterday, on the way home from picking the girls up at school we saw a turtle crossing our street. So, I stopped and scooped him up. The girls played with him for a few minutes then we put him in the garden while we ate lunch. But, when we came back out about 20 minutes later he was gone. Oh well! At least he won't get hit by a car I guess.
This is what happens when you give the bag of yogurt covered raisins to a 2 year old!! Notice Diddle eating them off of the floor using "No Hands!"
Another Sneak!
Rocket decoration/treat bags for Diddle's party next Saturday! Made using cups, scrapbook paper, and stickers!
Last night was rough for our little one. When I picked her up from school she sounded like a frog! As the day went on she got worse and then the fever hit. She was just pitiful. No eating, no drinking, and her throat must have been killing her because when she'd cough she would just cry and cry. Needless to say, she slept in mommy and daddy's room last night just to be on the safe side. When she got up this morning the cough was still there, but the fever is gone. And, she's eating and drinking and acting pretty normal.
This was the other day at Kroger.

A Sneak Peek!

Hayden is having an outer space/alien 4th birthday party in a couple weeks. So, we are getting prepared! Here's the first craft that Jeremy and I conquered this afternoon while watching football. The kids are going to get to decorate their very own alien mask!!
