The New Love of Our Lives!
Lisa came up to the hospital the day that Gwynn was born and she took some really great pictures. As you will be able to tell....I could not just pick a few, so I added TONS!
Here's Hayden getting to hold her sweet sister for the first time! She did not want to let go once Gwynn was in her arms.
Our little nurturer making sure that Gwynn's head is comfortable and positioned just right.
She just could not wait to hold sister. Such a proud moment in her life for sure!
Our family of five, finally complete!
The new middle sister of the family...Layne!
The new baby of the family....Gwynn!
When they moved me from labor and delivery to the other side everyone had to stay outside while they got me situated in the room. At that point my legs were still pretty useless so I needed A LOT of help getting on the bed and comfortable. Within about 2 hours though I was good to go.
I can't even put into words how excited we all are to have Gwynn here. She's such a sweet baby girl. So content and beautiful. I just can't wait to watch her change and grow over the next few months.
Making the journey from labor and delivery to our nice peaceful other room.
Perfect little girl.
David and Lisa hanging out with us for a little while.
Grandma and her girls!
Grandma and the girls hung out together while mommy and daddy were at the hospital with Gwynn. They were busy little bees....going to the library, swimming in the pool on the deck, getting ice cream, going back to the library, grocery shopping, cooking......
Here's the necklace that mom gave me when they came to meet Gwynn. I am in love with it!!

Gwynn's Arrival

Well, Thursday was the big day! We got to the hospital right around 6am and they didn't waste any time getting the induction going. I saw a doctor from Greystone and he was ready to break my water and start the pitocin. I told Jeremy that I wanted to say, "Hang on here just a minute....let's make sure that we discuss the epidural before we start moving so fast!" I did make it very clear to everyone that I wanted an epidural and I wanted it ASAP. Unfortunately, I had to wait until I was 4 to 5 cm in order to get it. I managed until then though. Once I had the epidural things got better for me, but worse for Gwynn. Every contraction I had slowed her heart rate.... noticeably. They put oxygen on me, but that didn't help. Finally, they came in with some sensor thing that they were going to put on her head to make sure she was ok and another sensor that was going to in the uterus to measure the strength of the contractions to make sure that they weren't too strong. I was so nervous, I just wanted her to be here and safe!! Fortunately, when they checked me before putting the sensors in it was time to HAVE A BABY! BUT, every time that I pushed her heart rate would drop very low. Some times it even dropped to 30. It is supposed to be between 160 and 120. We all knew that she had to come out and it had to be fast! So, Melissa (midwife) took out the vacuum and all it took was once and she was out. They had all kinds of doctors in there just to be sure that she was ok....and Praise the Lord she was!! She was perfect!! Scary situation, but everything worked out in the end.

Gwynn Anderson Ross born at 2:48pm. 7 pounds 8 ounces and 20 inches long. Our precious new baby is finally here safe and sound.

Of course daddy had to have his daddy/daughter nap with the new love of his life!

Sweet little sleepy head.

Great Grandma Leakey came for a visit.

Keeping Cool & Celebrating

It's so hot here....we had to break out our back up pool the other day so that the girls could keep cool. It's nice and big, not sure why I haven't been swimming in it all summer!? Layne does a good job of keeping my feet nice and cooled off.

Last night we went to Tokyo (Layne calls is Ptokyo...I guess like Pinocchio and Tokyo combine) for Layne's early birthday dinner. It was great.

What a beautiful girl she is growing up to be....inside and out!

Had to take a toothpick picture just for Pap! We miss you Pap!!!

Pinterest Thursday!
Tonight at Pinterest Playgroup we made picture frame plaques. I decided that I wanted to go a different direction with it though. I wanted to make name plaques for the girls rooms! I just had to do a lady bug one for Gwynn's room!
Hayden and Layne got the bumble bee theme. I am very happy with how they turned out. It is so nice to get out of the house and do something other than sit and wait for this baby to come! I love Thursday night's at Mary's house with the Pinterest ladies!!

Pigtails
Finally after almost 4 years I can put Layne's feather fine hair into pigtails. Layne couldn't be happier about it!
Then today we got a package in the mail from Pap! There were two books and one was a Tangled book that had a special light up hair barrette. How exciting that she can actually have one long pigtail!! Thanks Pap, we can't wait to read the stories tonight at bedtime.

Home Stretch.....
Yes, we are in the final weeks of pregnancy and I am so ready! It's such an inner battle with me. I am not feeling like myself and I haven't for weeks now, but I want so badly to be "back to normal". I like being active and happy and fun to be around, but I just can't seem to get there these days. I totally understand why, I'm hot, miserable, uncomfortable, achy, sleep deprived, irritable, emotional, and beyond ready for Gwynn to be here. Part of me still feels like I should just be able to get over this and be me. After all, I can SEE the light at the end of the tunnel now....it really won't be long before I am holding baby G in my arms! Why can't I just enjoy these last couple of weeks? Enjoy being a family of 4, enjoy having an excuse to waddle, enjoy eating if and when I want, enjoy the internal hiccups and kicks that Gwynn give me, enjoy the naps and extra rests that I take, enjoy the comfortable maternity pants that I love so much???? I feel bad not being happy. I feel guilty, like I am being a spoiled brat that can't handle it. Am I alone in feeling this way? I just can't remember what it was like when I was pregnant with Hayden or Layne. The fact that I have to keep in mind is that little Gwynn will be here in 16 days or less!
