Fall Project

We collected some leaves on our way home from running errands today. One of the churches near our house has some beautiful colorful trees in front right now.

We flattened them out between some books for a few hours and then put them on a sheet of wax paper.

Next we sprinkled crayon shavings on the wax paper. I shaved the crayons with a knife during Hayden's nap time!

Last, we heated up the iron on low heat, put an old towel down on the ironing board, and got ready to iron. We put another sheet of wax paper on top of the leaves and crayons. Mommy worked with the hot iron...no burns this time!

Now Hayden has a new colorful fall leaf place mat to eat her meals on!!

Great idea! I had been wanting to collect leaves with Hannah and do something like that...I think we'll be making a placemat too! So creative Trista!
