First Trip to the Dentist!
Today Hayden and I had dentist appointments. You know those moments in life where you are just so proud that you could explode!? I had one of those moments today. Hayden was just so good at the dentist. She wasn't nervous or anything. She just sat there like a good little girl and did everything that Becky asked her to do. She was the perfect patient!
Perfect teeth too!
Little Layner wanted to accessorize this morning when she got dressed!
Today we got an Easter package in the mail from Grandma and Pap!
HUGE Easter lollipops-just like the Valentine's lips!
Gotta love those gigantic lollipops!!
And sticky things for the windows. Love it! Thanks so much for the package Grandma and Pap!!

Nap Time Reading
Layne only got out of bed twice last night (first time in the crib without the front!). It was so funny, she would just come walking down the hall and just stroll over to Hayden and start to play as if nothing was wrong. Today's nap was pretty much the same. She only left her bedroom once though. The second time I found her out of bed by her book shelf just browsing her large selection of books. Here she is reading a few books before she settles in for her nap....
It finally came.....our vinyl lettering for the kitchen! I LOVE it!!
Jersey Shore Fist Pump

Here's the finished product......chocolate chocolate chip cake with butter cream filling. Iced in black butter cream with fondant and gumpaste accents. Oh, and the modeling chocolate fist!
Birthday boy likes the Falcons too, so I went with the black, red, and white theme. It worked out perfectly because the Jersey Shore logo is red, white, and black too!

Kisses for Everyone!

Daddy gave mommy a kiss goodbye before he left for job number 2 this morning. When Layne saw it, she walked over to him, pulled on his pant leg and pursed her lips out. He swept her up and gave her a goodbye kiss too. It was just so cute!
Here is Layne helping me take the recycling out to the garage this morning....
Here is Layne being VERY dramatic about how "heavy" the basket is....yeah yeah, I know it's a Pet Smart shopping basket. Pappy brought it home when we got the FISH for Hayden's 2nd birthday!!! So, we just kept it.
Preschool Art Show!
Tonight we were invited back to Hayden's preschool for their Art Show! It's a chance for parents to check out some of the things that the kiddos have been doing. Our little Hayden is quite the artist!
Layne loved looking at big sis's art. Those teachers are so creative!
This was my favorite. And it's laminated so it will last forever!
I mean, how good is that?!
Hayden was so excited to see all of her friends. She greeted each one of them with a hug as they walked in the door.
This is her buddy Oakley. Layne just loved Oakley. She kept walking up to her giving her hugs.... Oakley wasn't too sure about that. She also wasn't too sure about how to say Hayden's name either. She kept calling Hayden "Payton" and her parents kept correcting her. Her mom told me that when she talks about Hayden at home she calls her "Payton" too and Miss Jessica says that's what she calls Hayden at school too. Poor confused little girl! Hayden's teacher told me that everyone LOVES Hayden and Hayden is friends with EVERYONE. She said that if Hayden misses a day all of the kids want to know where she is. She said that Hayden is the most talked about kid in the class. It made me so proud of Hayden. It's nice to know that Hayden is well liked and well mannered.
And lastly, we went to another room to have punch and cookies. We also told Hayden's teacher that she would have little sis next year! Next year they will both be enrolled in preschool 4 days a week. We also told Miss Jessica that she would see a definite difference between the two sisters!!
The Fist Pump

A friend from DP asked me to make a fist pump/Jersey Shore cake for her son's 16th birthday this weekend. As soon as she told me about it I knew exactly what I was going to do. I had no idea HOW I was going to do it, but I had the idea of a fist coming out of the cake. So, I researched-not only how to make what I was imagining, but also the art of the "fist pump". So, this is it. It's PVC pipe with modeling chocolate molded around it! Kind of freaky, huh?!

Lunch Bunch....at home

I got a call from Hayden's preschool director today saying that she had a fever. All last week and this week Hayden has been attending lunch bunch at preschool. It's just an extra hour where she eats lunch and hangs out with her school buddies. She LOVES it!
I felt so bad that she wasn't feeling well and that she had to miss lunch bunch at school. So, I set up a little at home lunch bunch with some of her favorite stuffed buddies.
When daddy got home from work today he fixed himself a little snack of crackers and peanut butter. He got a phone call and had to leave the room. The little sneaky girl got up on the couch and went right for the peanut butter jar!!

It's actually my 1,004th blog post!! Can you believe that!? It all started with this post below on October 9, 2006!! So, I thought that I would share it again......

Hayden Chenayi Ross was born on October 5, 2006 at 9:26 pm. She weighed 6 pounds 13 ounces and was 20 inches long. God created such a perfect gift for Jeremy and I. Her middle name is the name of a very special woman that I met while I was over in Zimbabwe on a mission trip 2 summers ago. It is pronounced Chin-I and means Smart Heart in the Shona language.
Cake Contest
And I Need Your Help!!
It's not the Ultimate Cake Off (that's an awesome show in TLC). It's actually through Disney Family Fun and it's a cake contest!! The grand prize is a PROFESSIONAL stand mixer.
Look for the cake below-my LEGO CAKE and vote for it!!! Simple as that!!

If I win the stand mixer who knows, maybe my first baking adventure with the new machine will be celebration cupcakes for all!!!

Layne's Favorite....

This is Layne's favorite part about mommy's baking! Today it was red velvet cake batter-what a mess!
After I carved the cake I went to the craft closet to get some paper for the cake board. As I searched and searched for the perfect paper I head a chair sliding across the kitchen floor. When I walked in this is what I found. Layne was standing up on a chair so that she could get to the cake...thankfully it was the scraps!!
Easter Dresses!!
Pappy and Melody went Easter dress shopping last weekend. The picked 14 dresses out and then texted me pictures so that Hayden and I could pick our favorites. It slowed down my grocery shopping, but we really enjoyed the process. So, today we got a package in the mail.
A dress for each of the girls, a pair of gloves, a headband, an Easter hat, a bracelet, a Dora watch, white shoes, and a cool glittery Easter bouncy ball (my favorite!).
Beautiful!
Barbie Purse

Eagle Cookies

Karen, the one I did the Indy hat cake and Lego cake for, contacted me to do some cookies for her son's bake sale. He attends YACS and the mascot is an eagle. So, I did 2 dozen eagle heads....
and 1 dozen fluffy eagle heads!
The Change!

Jeremy and I have been working tirelessly since Sunday....and now we are almost done! What do you think of the kitchen wall color?! Notice Miss Vanna White modeling the new room at the bottom.
I found this wall decor at Pier One-Love it! Jeremy's not a big fan of it. He thinks it's a dust collector-MEN!
This is one of my most favorite things in the kitchen. A faucet that changes between a spray and a stream, the head comes off for easier cleaning, AND a soap dispenser!!! I am in love. Dishes have never been so fun.
We got the area rug first and kind of designed the room around that. We now have wood blinds on the windows. It makes mornings so enjoyable now that we aren't blinded by the rising sun anymore. And we found the curtains at Bed Bath and Beyond. They fit in perfectly.
We still have to paint the fireplace white again since it's a little (ok A LOT) discolored by the smoke and heat. In between the fireplace and mantel is actually a darker shade of blue. The vault is darker too. That one is a little easier to tell since it's right up against the lighter blue. And the circles wall decor...another beauty from Pier One.
We are still waiting on some vinyl lettering for the kitchen. It's going to go on the wall with the kitchen island. We are also going to put in some track lighting in the kitchen. It's going to be really cool because it will be a wavy line with spots and then over the bar area will will have two lights hanging down. But, we are almost done!!

Powerful!

Mom sent this to me today and I wanted to share it with my blog family. A really strong commercial for wearing your seat belt!
Another Heart Breaker....

A couple weeks ago Grady ran away. We think that he followed my car when I went to drop Hayden off at preschool. That was the day that Jeremy and I had to go to south Carolina for a conference. So, Jeff tracked him down at the pound. Apparently a cop had picked him up at an apartment complex a little over a mile away-across 138!! Well, I guess he got a taste of the world outside of his 1 mile electric fence area....and he liked it. He ran away again on Saturday. This time he wasn't lucky enough to roam the streets unharmed. Jeremy found him on the side of the road while he was on his way home from work this morning. He was about a half mile from our house headed away from 138. At first he wasn't sure if it was Grady because he didn't have his collars on, but I asked him to go back and make sure-I just needed to know. Jeremy found the collars about 15 feet from Grady's body-so now we are sure that it's him. This whole time that he was gone I never even thought about the fact that he could have gotten hit. I just figured that we'd call the pound when they opened today and he'd be there. I never expected Jeremy to say that he saw him on the side of the road. Poor pup....
