Peas Please

Wynnie loves food....especially table food! Last night it was peas and carrots with a little bread in there too! About half of it ends up in her lap or high chair, but she's learning!
Yes, Sugar and Spice Sweets now takes credit cards!
Layne showing us how she flosses her teeth. I honestly don't think that anything would get stuck in between those gappy teeth, but it's good to learn though! She's learning all about fires and her teeth this week at school. Interesting combo!
This is Hayden's new favorite thing to do on the way home from school. I pick her up first and then we drive about 10 minutes to pick Layner up....that's when she does her homework! She keeps a pencil in her book bag for that very purpose!! I don't know if I told all of you yet, but her teacher emailed me and she's like to have her tested for Program Challenge (the gifted program)! We are super excited, but we haven't even told Hayden. We just don't want her to feel any pressure. We know that she's smart whether she gets into the program or not!
More peas! Look at that concentration!!

Sunny Funday Sunday

What a crazy girl!
One of her friends from school last year stopped by with her dad to drop something off to me and I called Hayden to come and see her friend....she came running down the back ramp with this on. I was like, "Umm, you may want to take those eyebrows and that mustache off!" She had totally forgotten that they were on!

Hayden had to do a diarama for a required school wide project. She had to pick a book and then do a project that included the main character and a scene from the story. So, we went to the library on Wednesday night to get A Bad Case of Stripes. It was checked out, so on Thursday we went to the Covington Library to get it. Then today we did the project!!

Crazy Layner!

Layne is just soaking in all of this stuff...because next year she'll be doing it all too!!

It was such a beautiful afternoon.

The finished project!

Basically, this girl likes lima beans but she pretends that she doesn't because she wants people to like her and she thinks if they knew she liked lima beans they wouldn't like her. So, all of a sudden one day she get stripes and has to go to school with stripes all over her. Everyone tries to figure out why and all of the remedies don't work. This scene in the book is where the doctors give her lots of pills to take and she turns into a pill! Finally an old lady comes over and advises her to eat lima beans. She does and she turns back to normal! Hayden wanted to add all of the lima beans all around her project. I thought that it was such a great idea! Of course we didn't have lima beans, so we had to run to the store tonight to get them! Project is finished....5 days early too! I think that she did an outstanding job...don't you?!

Wedding Tasting!

Here's a picture of my wedding tasting plate from this weekend. Both brides and grooms loved all of the choices and flavors. Two successful tastings!! Fun stuff for sure!

Grammie's Birthday

Yesterday we headed over to Jeff and Jan's to celebrate Grammie's birthday a little late since she was in the hospital last weekend. We all just spent the day together and the guys cooked dinner for all of us! Here are all of the cousins's hanging on the couch-Hayden, Gwynn, Layne, Caroline, and Mac. The three older ones had a blast playing together!! It was a great afternoon.
Here's the cake that I made for Jan. Carrot cake with cream cheese icing.

Big Box

Jerm bought me a new sink for my birthday and this is the box that it came in! The girls played and played in it and then they decided that they wanted to sleep in it!!

Game Time!

On Thursday I took the girls to Game Time. They have 4 or 5 bouncies and the girls LOVED it! Gwynn and I just chilled on the leather chair and relaxed!
Can you see the excitement in their eyes. They CAN NOT wait to get on those bouncies!
The girls love to play with fondant when I am working on cakes. I was telling Jeremy that it's so funny to watch them because they try to model different techniques that they have seen me do. It's great stuff!

Blankie

Yes, we have another one that loves her blankie. This is how she falls asleep for naps and nights....a little part of the soft satin in her mouth!! Crazy, but she can't sleep without it!

Baking with Mommy

I had an order this week for some crown cookies. I had enough leftover dough so that the girls could each make a cookie!
Layne picked a heart cutter and Hayden picked the crown. They cut them out and then it was time to put them in the oven and wait.
Once they cooked it was time to decorate!

Dirty Dirty Dirt

Daddy is working to dig out more of the crawlspace and the girls just love to "help". They just play in the dirt that he loads into the trailer. Yes, Monday was PJ day since we are off for Winter Break this week!!
Scoop of dirty anyone?!

Tutu Head!

Layner being crazy at Discover Point on Sunday!

Sunny Days

Last weekend the weather was just great! We spent some time outside. The girls decided that it would be fun to get in Wynnie's swing! Crazy girls.
I also went on my long run- 8 miles- and it did not go well. I finished, but I struggled for some reason. I called Jerm on my way up the street and asked him to bring me down a drink. This is what I saw as I got closer to the driveway.....what a great sight!
