New Year's Eve Birthday Breakfast
Yesterday morning we made Pappy a special birthday breakfast. He was very surprised!
In the evening Mwende came over for a big night of New Year's baking and crafts! She cooked us a fabulous dinner and then the festivities began. We started with ritz peanut butter sandwiches dipped in chocolate topped with a teddy graham. The teddy graham was the girls' job.
Johnny made us these cool 2010 glasses to wear!
Then we made noise makers for the girls. They helped us glue the stickers onto the bottle. Layner loved hers-big surprise!
Layne went to bed around 10:30 but Hayden stuck it out until the end. She and Mwende made a special New Year's crown, we baked oatmeal raisin cookies (johnny and mwende's favorite), and watched a little TV. We ended the night "cheersing" with sparkling cider/champagne (depending on who you were).
I'm so glad that Johnny and Mwende wanted to stay in and have a kid friendly New Year's celebration with us!! Thanks guys.
