"Homework"
Or At Least That's What I Thought.....
The other day the girls came home from school and emptied out their folders so that we could see all of the great things that they had done that morning. One of the things Hayden pulled out was a blank worksheet. There were two boxes on it. One said "Quarters" above it and the other said "Not Quarters" above it. Hayden told me that it was homework.
So, the next morning I took a look at the sheet again and tried to figure out what needed to be done. I figured that it probably wasn't a good idea to glue actual quarters to the worksheet, so I got busy printing images of quarters and other "Q" items.
I gave the paper to Hayden and instructed her to cut them out so that she could glue them to her homework sheet. Unfortunately, we don't have any kid scissors! She did an amazing job with the big scissors though!! What a great little paper cutter she is.
Then she got a glue stick and glued the quarters in one box and the other "q" pictures in the other. I was so proud of her and she was proud too......
I took the girls to school and walked them in. I was keeping Sarah and the girls like for Sarah to walk in with them so that she can see where they go to school. As I talked with Ms. Nancy (Hayden's teacher) I mentioned something about Hayden doing her "homework" that morning. Nancy looked at me like I may just be crazy and said, "homework?". I explained what the "homework" sheet looked like. Nancy knew exactly what I was talking about and she said, "Oh, that was just scratch paper for them to work on writing their names. If you look on the back you'll see that Hayden wrote her name. Ms. Virginia just sent them home so parents could see how the children can write their names." Hahaha!
Ms. Nancy said that she's look at Hayden's "homework" and make a big deal about it. So, this is what Hayden brought home that day.....
and she was SO proud.....
