Grocery Tower
Today when Hayden and I got home from the grocery store it was time to start dinner. So, daddy brought in the groceries as I started dinner. Some of the bags ended up on the floor so Hayden decided to build a tower.
As we were shopping at Kroger today a Backstreet song came on. Instinctively, I just started singing it out loud to Hayden. I just wasn't really thinking about what I was doing. I sang and sang and even busted out some dance moves (just kidding about the moves!). All of a sudden as I walked down the frozen foods isle a man coming towards me was really singing loudly with the Backstreet Boys. I was feeling a little embarrassed for him and then right at that very moment I realized that I was doing it too-I had been singing out loud too!
Tonight as I was putting Hayden to bed she looked up at me and said, "Mommy, can you sing to me?" I guess I must have done a good job with the Backstreet Boys song this afternoon! She's never asked me to sing to her-even though I do it all the time. The way she asked me made me feel like she things I have one of the most beautiful voices she's ever heard. It was just so sweet and it touched my heart. Then on top of that, when we were saying a prayer she said, "thank you for mommy coming to my cool (school) today and bringing cookies". She definitely know how to make her mommy feel loved :-)
2 love notes:
John gets on to me all the time for singing along with the grocery store songs and movin' to the music a bit...what can I say...there's just something about shopping with music!
So sweet about Hayden's prayer.
Her haircut is so adorable! I love it! And so is yours! Can't wait to see both of your new do's in person! :O)
