Art Outside
Today the girls colored some fall pictures while they sat outside. It thought that Layne would color on the paper just as well as she colored on the wall the other night, but she barely put a mark on the paper!
Guess she only likes to color on things she isn't supposed to!
Hayden, on the other hand, colored everything purple-deep dark purple!
Then we collected acorns on the deck. Little Layner just couldn't manage to hold all of the acorns that she wanted. The just kept slipping out of her hands.
So, I got her a little basket to keep them in.
Tonight, Matt and Jamie came over for dinner! It was so great to hang out with them and catch up. Matt doesn't teach tomorrow so they were able to hang out for a while. After dinner we showed them Layne's halloween costume-Wonder Woman!! Jamie was the one that gave us the idea. The other week when we were over at their place Layne was crawling up and down their stairs like a champ. Jamie said that Layne just needed to be Wonder Woman for Halloween because she's so crazy and daring like a super hero! So, we searched and searched for a WW costume in Layne's size-easier said than done. We ended up order one in Hayden's size and then I sewed and modified the costume. The only thing that I had to modify was the shirt. I bought another shirt in Layne's size, made the WW emblem out of felt, sewed it onto the shirt, sewed velcro on the cape and shirt, and there you have it. Hayden loves to wear the costume too, so it's good that we ordered it in her size!!
We finished the night off with this four layer pumpkin cake with cream cheese pumpkin filling. It was pretty good-a nice twist to the good old pumpkin pie!
